Tim Lemke (center) is honored with Big50 award

Tim Lemke Construction was recently selected by Remodeling magazine to join the Remodeling Big50, a national honor awarded annually since 1986. Tim Lemke was the only Minnesota contractor selected this year.

The Big50 Awards were given at the Remodeling Leadership Conference in Virginia on May 15th. Each year, the Remodeling Big50 inducts 50 owners of remodeling companies that have set exceptionally high standards for professionalism and integrity through exemplary business practices, craftsmanship, and impact in their community or the industry at large. The 2009 Big50 winners were featured in the May issue of Remodeling, a national trade publication read by more than 80,000 remodeling contractors. Since its inception, there have been 1,200 companies named in the Big50. There are currently 179,000 remodeling companies in the US.

“We are very honored to receive this distinction,” Lemke said. “I credit our team and their dedication. I’m very thankful for them.”

Nominations for the Big50 are made each year by Remodeling editors, columnists, industry leaders, and the remodeling companies themselves. Following a lengthy evaluation process, the editors select the 50 individuals who exemplify the best of the industry that year. Winners are selected in eight categories: Business Savvy, Fine Design, Industry Impact, Market Wise, Movers & Shakers, Niches, Sales & Marketing, and Teamwork. TLC was selected for the category of Niches.

In addition to receiving the Big50 Award, Tim Lemke Construction was one of just four companies singled out within the group for a Big50 Service Excellence Award. GuildQuality independently surveyed fifty customers per remodeling company. The responses showed TLC’s customers as among the most satisfied.

“Especially in this economic climate,” Lemke said, “It is reassuring to know that our customers understand the value of what we provide.”
